BIOGRAPHY

Gudrun Buhler is a German Opera Singer, Actress, Writer and Director. She has studied piano in Mannheim and then switched to voice when she studied at the School of Music in Karlsruhe. She holds a Master Degree for Vocal Performance from Manhattan School of Music and Karlsruhe School of Music. 

Gudrun has performed numerous times in Venues such as Baden Baden Festspielhaus, Carnegie Hall and other Opera houses in Europe and the United States. In November 2023 she won third prize in the international voice Caruso/Altamura Voice competition in Sienna, Italy. In October 2023 Gudrun sang two performances at the getaway151 singing opera arias and duets. In August 2023 she performed her new work "Clara Schumann" in the Teatro Latea, NYC. Gudrun is also a very active giving art song recitals in Europe as well as United States. In 2021, during covid lockdown, Gudrun produced, directed and sang in a movie she was making about the Opera "Amahl and the Night Visitors" at St.Frances Cabrini Shrine. 

In 2018 Gudrun was invited to perform in four concerts honouring the victims of the Holocaust in Krakow. In 2017 Gudrun wrote and performed "Mozart's Women", portraying the wife of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. "Mozart's Women" has won Best Singer, Best Show and Best Original Show in the Festival competition of the NY Theatre Festival. Gudrun wrote and produced three award winning shows in different theatre competitions in NYC. All her shows included operatic singing: Mozart's Women, Romeo and Juliet the Musical, Who is afraid of the Moon. In 2016 Gudrun was invited to sing at a Peace Conference in the Vatican in Rome. Gudrun is the creator of the "Anina Art Events" a grant based company that offers musical performances combined with exhibits of visual art in Manhattan. aninaartevents.com.
