BIOGRAPHY

Gudrun Buhler is a German Opera Singer, Actress, Writer and Director. She studied piano and voice at the Mannheim School of Music and later Opera at the Karlsruhe School of Music. She holds a Master Degree from Manhattan School of Music as well as Karlsruhe School of Music. 

Gudrun has performed numerous times in Venues such as Baden Baden Festspielhaus, Carnegie Hall and other Opera houses in Europe and the United States. In November 2023 she won third prize in the international voice competition: "Caruso/Altamura Voice competition" in Sienna, Italy. 

Gudrun regularly performs art-song recitals in Europe as well as United States. Gudrun is always active performing recitals in Europe as well as United States. She is also passionate about creating theatre shows which include classical singing. In August 2023 she performed her one woman show "Clara Schumann" portraying the first female pianist in history at the Teatro Latea, NYC. Gudrun produced and directed a movie about the Opera "Amahl and the Night Visitors". She sang the role of "Mother". Gudrun also wrote and performed "Mozart's Women", portraying the wife of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. "Mozart's Women" has won Best Singer, Best Show and Best Original Show in the NY Theatre Festival competition. Gudrun wrote and produced three award winning shows in different theatre competitions in NYC. All her shows included operatic singing: Mozart's Women, Romeo and Juliet the Musical, Who is afraid of the Moon. Gudrun produced and directed a movie about the Opera "Amahl and the Night Visitors". She sang the role of "Mother". In 2016 Gudrun was invited to sing at a Peace Conference in the Vatican in Rome. Gudrun is the creator of the "Anina Art Events" a grant based company that offers musical performances combined with exhibits of visual art in Manhattan. aninaartevents.com.
